Join us for an interactive workshop on highlighting the historical & present implications of colonialism in medicine, healthcare, and global health. We will discuss these legacies as they pertain to interactions with BIPOC and queer & trans bodies and re-evaluate the past & present coloniality in STEM programs. We will consider what it means to work within and beyond cultural competence, talk a bit about relevance in the times of a COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately explore how social justice lenses offer radical avenues for decolonizing health/pre-health/medical education & practice.
